While CP is primarily a volunteer driven organization, we do employ a small staff of professionals who oversee numerous activities.

Jamie Ulmer, Artistic Director. Jamie has been CP’s Artistic Director since 1997. He has directed over 50 productions including Fiddler on the Roof, Dial “M” for Murder, Grease, Rumors, I Do! I Do!, Harvey, The Diary of Anne Frank, and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. As an actor Jamie has appeared throughout the Midwest in numerous productions including Moon Over Buffalo, Of Thee I Sing, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Foreigner, Joseph…Dreamcoat, Crazy for You He has written and performed a one man show based on the life of Cole Porter called Where is the Life that Late I Led? He serves on the board of directors for several local and state organizations including Nebraskans for the Arts, Beatrice Area Arts Council and the Nebraska Association of Community Theatres. Jamie is also an adjunct theatre instructor at Southeast Community College – Beatrice. His production of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon took home first place at the most recent Nebraska Association of Community Theatres one-act festival, where he also earned the Best Director award. Jamie directs and designs a majority of CP’s productions in addition to overseeing daily operations of the organization.

Kirsten Warren Carrel, Box Office/Communications Manager. Kirsten has been a sign language interpreture in the Beatrice and Diller school systems since moving to Beatrice two years ago. Previously living in Grand Island, Kirsten has been involved in Grand Island Little Theatre productions and was a choir director for 10 years. She was also involved with theatre growing up in her mother's theatre company in Scottsbluff. She and her husband, Steve, have two children, a daughter - Layna, and a son - Tevan.

Cindy Shepherd, Costume Librarian. Cindy is in charge of keeping our costume inventory organized and coordinating with production costumers on pulling items from our stocks. She is also in charge of coordinating costume rentals from the theatre, and is the contact person for those wishing to donate clothing to CP. Away from the theatre she is the owner/operator of Absolute Style and has assistant stage managed several productions and is a member of the CP Board of Directors
